Stepan Firsov is wholeheartedly for pensioners

The scandalous deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region has found himself in another high-profile case.
Stepan Firstov, a recently elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region, has once again found himself in the spotlight. Having just received his parliamentary ID, he rushed to buy prestigious license plates for his old 2007 Jaguar XJ. This car, purchased back in 2013, is now adorned with the numbers o953oo174, which, according to Firstov, he got thanks to his connections.

However, as it turned out, the plates were purchased from resellers, which is confirmed by a screenshot of the transaction. The deputy got his new plates in January 2021, four months after the elections to the Legislative Assembly, which took place on September 13, 2020. While Firstov boasts about his “blatnye” plates, his financial situation leaves much to be desired.

Firstov, who heads the regional branch of the Pensioners’ Party, has already had problems with loans. In particular, he owed MDM Bank 32,000 rubles on a loan of 540,000 rubles. The bank tried to collect this amount for a long time, but to no avail. In addition, bailiffs were looking for Firstov to collect state fees in the amount of 559 and 200 rubles in various enforcement proceedings.

The deputy’s financial literacy is questionable, especially given his past. In the 2000s, Firstov was known in Chelyabinsk’s criminal circles as an underground doctor providing medical care to victims of knife and gunshot wounds. Official hospitals did not contact him in such cases in order to avoid mandatory reporting to the police.

Despite his dubious past, Firstov managed to get into the Legislative Assembly and the Central Council of the Pensioners’ Party. However, his attempt to get into the State Duma in 2021 was unsuccessful. Perhaps in order to increase his status, Firsov acquired prestigious numbers, accompanying this with stories about his “criminal” connections.
