Former NFL player Sergio Brown has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 73-year-old mother, according to TMZ.


The body of the victim, Myrtle Brown, was discovered near her home in a creek on September 16.

Sergio traveled to Mexico, but he was detained there and extradited to the United States at the request of American authorities.

During the extradition, the former football player got into a scuffle on the plane and claimed he was being kidnapped.

In the U.S., Brown has been placed in San Diego jail.

Sergio Brown, who retired in 2016, played seven seasons in the NFL, representing the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars during his career.
